Self Approach by Meditation

mixed-media on canvas | 150x120cm

Upon the winding path of my journey, the touch of India, a cultural tapestry interwoven with the threads of spirituality, has wrought a profound metamorphosis upon the act of painting. It has shifted from a mere dalliance into an urgent necessity of expression.

In the heart of this canvas, the art of Mehendi unfurls its tendrils—a dance of hennaed hands that grace Eastern rites of union. Here, it is transcribed not as ink upon skin, but as a vessel for meditation, a sacred conduit. Married in matrimony with the glistening pearls of water, they bead and weave, adorning the singular seashell motif, now sanctified, a Marian emblem.

Within its curves lies a universe of transformation and transcendence, cradled by the Heart’s Prayer in my meditation. The pearl-studded shell, emblematic and resplendent, emerges as a beacon of universality, where the threads of devotion and artistry intertwine, creating a masterpiece that whispers of both sacred rites and the boundless expanse of the soul’s journey.
